A MASSIVE congratulations to our Creative Productions Showgroup team for their amazing success at this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show !
The Showgroup team has just completed 14 days of all day performances in both the Street Parade & Main Arena -”True Blue” Spectacular.  As choreographers & teachers, we could not have asked for more success than what was achieved over the last school holidays.  Our students dedication & commitment to their grueling schedule was one of amazement & awe.  We received so many compliments & positive feedback from all the staff of both the RAS (Royal Agricultural Society) & the RES (Royal Easter Show) for the unbelievable professionalism of our students.
Creative Productions is the ONLY dance team in the history of the Show to be asked to perform for ALL 14 days of the show, let alone 3 times a day.
Prior to the start of the Easter Show, our students had 3 all day rehearsals at the Showground for the “True Blue” Spectacular with many time consuming alterations (this was mainly due to the bad behavior of the sheep & cattle). These rehearsals were extremely tiring for everyone but the kids never complained or lost their enthusiasm.  It was truly a sight to behold !
Once everything was ironed out, the CDA students had the pleasure of being asked to also perform an encore each night singing with big names such as “John Williamson” & “Adam Harvey”. This was so unexpected but so exciting.  Our students received the most applause each night for their ‘Circus’ segment of “True Blue” with thousands of people sitting in the rain just to watch us. On the last night of the Show, Creative Productions was asked to do a lap of honour around the arena to a standing ovation.  We were all in tears & so very proud of our kids huge success !
As well as our success in the main arena, Creative Productions had the pleasure of performing to millions during the street parade twice daily.  Our theme for this year’s parade was “Thriller” with the students REALLY getting into character & scaring the pants off many audience members.  When the parade performances 1st began, we assumed it would be the same as any other year with the kids dancing brilliantly down the street & drawing audiences from far & wide.  Surprisingly though, it turned into something more fantastic than what we every would have imagined. Our well behaved, disciplined children became “death eaters” & gobbled up the audience by running into the crowds to scare, chase & mortify as many unsuspecting people as possible.
By the last week of the Show, we had security guards, CEO’s & many RES staff fighting over who would drive our float & walk with us  to witness the fun & laughs.
Aside from the fantastic performance experience, we all made so many new friends in the staff, cowboys, breeders, & managers of the Easter Show & met lots of celebrities such as Rebecca Lavelle (singer of “McLeod’s Daughters”). See photo inset.
These memories will never fade & will be with the kids to share with their own children in years to come.
