The students of Creative Dance Academy are trained in the Les Griffith Tap Dance Academy syllabus (L.G.T.D.A) which is the most challenging & most exciting tap syllabus that Australia if not the world has to offer. This syllabus has produced musicals such as “Hot Shoe Shuffle” & “Tap Dogs” which are now highly acclaimed on Broadway & London’s West-End stages.
Creative Dance Academy has a 20 year 100% pass rate in all tap examinations with most students achieving marks of Distinction. There is no other dance school in NSW that can boast such excellent results. Examination students are also given the opportunity of attending annual workshops with cast members of “Tap Dogs” as well as performing unbeatable routines at all Eisteddfods.
Tap examination syllabus classes start from the age of 4 years & upwards. Students are put into a graded class depending on their age. Creative Dance Academy provides classes in every grade from Pre-Test One through to Major Teacher Examinations. The L.G.T.D.A. Tap Syllabus teaches children excellence in timing & rhythm as well as ensuring that all students learn great stage technique & dance quality. Tap examinations are held annually during the month of August at the Creative Dance Academy studios in Vineyard.
Creative Dance Academy’s tap students progress through early training in flexibility of ankle & knee joints, gross motor skills & hand-eye co-ordination to advanced levels of musicality, timing differentiation & improvisation.
When graduating from the Academy, students will be fully qualified teachers of the L.G.T.D.A. Tap Syllabus. Tap students of Creative Dance Academy have gone on to perform in major stage performances of musical theatre.
